Government Commits to Eliminate Child Homelessness in Temporary Accommodations

Government pledges to end children living in B&Bs

The government has vowed to eradicate the issue of children being raised in bed and breakfasts (B&Bs) and to enhance childcare accessibility for families receiving Universal Credit, as part of its broader strategy to combat child poverty.

With the aim of lifting approximately 550,000 children out of poverty by 2030, this initiative represents the most significant decline in a single parliamentary term since records began, featuring proposals such as removing the two-child benefit limit.
