The young girl, identified by her family as Matilda, has been acknowledged as a victim of this heart-wrenching attack. Irina Goodhew, who previously taught Matilda, expressed her sorrow, stating, “She was a bright, joyful, and spirited child who illuminated the lives of those around her.”

The Harmony Russian School of Sydney confirmed her enrollment, stating, “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a former student who succumbed to injuries from gunfire. Our heartfelt sympathies extend to her family and friends during this tragic time.”

Matilda’s aunt revealed to a news outlet that the girl’s sister, who was present during the shooting, is struggling with the heartbreaking reality of their loss: “They were inseparable, like twins,” she shared.
