Chancellor Rachel Reeves has dismissed accusations that she provided misleading information to the public regarding the country’s finances prior to her Budget announcement.
During an interview, Reeves was questioned about her previous alerts concerning a potential downgrade in the UK’s economic productivity forecasts, which she raised during her address on November 4.
It has become apparent that the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) informed her in mid-September that the public finances were in a more favorable condition than was generally assumed, yet Reeves did not refer to a projection of increased wages.
