This sight underscores the significance of renewable energy in this breezy region of Aragón, located in northeastern Spain, where expansive plains host a multitude of wind and solar farms.

Recently, Figueruelas has gained recognition as a beacon of Spain’s green energy transition, further enhanced by the commencement of construction on a large factory dedicated to manufacturing batteries for electric vehicles. A collaborative investment of €4 billion ($4.7 billion; £3.5 billion) from the Chinese company CATL and the Netherlands’ Stellantis is fueling this endeavor.
