The tragic death of a 13-year-old girl, who perished while trying to emulate a dangerous social media trend, has led her mother to advocate for educational programs highlighting the risks associated with solvent abuse.

Sonia Hopkin, overwhelmed with grief, lost her daughter Tiegan Jarman, who was discovered unresponsive in her bedroom in Thurmaston, Leicestershire, on March 6. The young girl passed away while engaging in a hazardous online craze known as ‘chroming,’ a trend she had seen portrayed in videos on TikTok, according to her mother.

In response to this heartbreaking incident, Mrs. Hopkin has initiated a petition urging schools to implement mandatory lessons about the perils of solvent misuse. The 45-year-old healthcare assistant recounted the moment she learned of her daughter’s condition, stating that Tiegan was declared dead at the scene where she was found unconscious in her father’s home.
